Hi, I’m Ritika

I'm a user experience designer who never intended to be one. I studied Psychology in undergrad at Arizona State and was headed for medicine, mostly because I figured design was a hobby and I was just a little too fussy about details.
Certain things bugged me more than they probably should have, like the elevator panel where the close door button does nothing, or the settings menu that hides the one thing everyone is looking for. Then I took a UX elective in my last semester and it all made sense. Here was a job that took those small annoyances seriously and leaned on everything I'd learned about how people actually behave.
I started my UX design career at Zelle, working on systems used by millions of people. Alongside it I did a master's in Information Experience Design at Pratt Institute in New York. Since then I've worked on consumer products and newer tech, most recently designing with AI while trying to keep it feeling human.
I'm currently at Tesla designing enterprise and consumer experiences across energy and vehicle products.

a few thingsoutside of work
When I'm not working I'm usually behind a camera (especially when traveling), drawing on my iPad, or painting. The background here is one of mine! I'm a hugeeee foodie who will try any cuisine at least once, and I'm slowly working through a stack of fiction. Most of my free time goes to my lil pompom, Fluffy. Living in NYC also got me very into hunting down spots I've seen in TV shows and movies!
